The Queen Mother enjoyed Beaton's exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. Beaton's photographs before the War brought back happy memories for Queen Elizabeth. The pictures of the Queen and the Prince of Wales are exceptional. The production by Richard Buckle is 'superb'. The evening was 'delightful' and gave the Queen Mother much pleasure.
Sir Alastair Aird. Autograph letter to Beaton, from Clarence House, London.
