Papers relating to the Armitage Centre, a University conference centre located on the Owens Park complex. It opened in 1986 and was named in memory of former vice-chancellor, Sir Arthur Armitage. Subjects include: Manchester Youth games, 1990; local residents' complaints about associated traffic; student membership of Armitage Centre committee meetings; sports facilities at the Centre (the Main Hall could be adapted for sporting purposes). In recent years, the Centre has primarily been used for sporting and athletic purposes.
