Papers relating to the appointment of Frederic Jevons (1929-2012) to a chair in the liberal studies in science. This was a new appointment for a subject which examined the sociological, economic and philosophical aspects of science. Jevons had previously held an appointment in biochemistry at the University. He resigned the chair in 1975.
