Correspondence and papers relating to the Combined English Universities constituency, established in 1918. University of Manchester graduates were part of the electorate of this university constituency, which included all English universities except London, Cambridge and Oxford. The university constituencies were abolished in 1948. The papers include correspondence with CEU MPs, Sir Martin Conway and Eleanor Rathbone, actual and potential candidates, election literature, questions of eligibility for the university franchise, and the compilation of the electoral register for the CEU constituency.
