Papers relating to the dispute between University authorities and students over "political files", and subsequent sit-in on University premises. Following protests about the University allegedly holding information on the political opinions of certain students, the Students Union and other student groups had campaigned for an inquiry. The file includes comments on the protests from members of staff and students, references to the protests in the press, and copies of student literature relating to the protests. There is correspondence between the V-C and various Students Union officials, and minutes of the Student Affairs Committee.
