Scope and Content

The Administrative Computer Unit was established in 1969 to provide computing services to central administrative departments, primarily the Registrar's office, the Bursar's office, the Estates and Services department and the Library. It remained as an independent unit until 1994, when it became part of Manchester Computing. A routine file concerning introduction of new systems, the 1984 Data Protection Act, and a paper by the Director on the development of the Unit in the 1980s (1982).
