Correspondence and papers relating to University staff and students interned at the beginning of the Second World War. The correspondence mainly concerns efforts by the University to have individuals released from confinement and to gain exemptions from internment. Certain individual cases are discussed in detail. There is also material relating to the general position of staff born in enemy countries in UK universities in this period.
