File: Mond Lectures

Scope and Content

The Mond lectures were instituted in 1923 under a bequest made to the University by Mrs. Frederike Mond in memory of her husband, the chemist and industrialist Ludwig Mond. The lectures were delivered annually by two or three guest lecturers on a wide range of topics, including scientific subjects, arts and public affairs.

Most of the material in file concerns routine administration of the lectures, although there is discussion about the increasing difficulty in finding suitable speakers in the 1980s.
