Harold Bolton qualified MB ChB at the University of Manchester in 1942, and won several prizes; he became a ChM in 1956. An orthopaedic surgeon, he was a consultant at Stockport General Hospitals and Manchester Northern Hospital. He was a senior fellow of the British Orthopaedic Association.
