Robinson's mention of a destructive hail storm on 22 or 23 May reminds him of an entry in the West Hoathly parish register regarding a similar storm at the same time of year in 1728; he appends a copy; they had a rain storm on 17 May, nearly four inches of rain fell in less than two hours in the evening; there was some hail during the storm [this last comment is crossed through]; they have a large wistaria here which has bloomed better than ever this year

On the final page is an extract from the parish register of 12 May 1728 relating to a hail storm
