Letter from Wolseley [Frances Wolseley; Viscountess Wolseley] to William Robinson

Scope and Content

Written from Ragged Lands, Glynde, Lewes, [Sussex]. Manuscript

Her students are anxious to visit Gravetye again; she knows Robinson allows anyone to see the gardens on Thursdays but thought it better to warn him; if he would give them some gardening advice that would be a help; she doesn’t wish to ask so much of someone who is so busy ‘and we fear thinks but poorly of the female gardener!’
