Letter from Henry Thompson to William Robinson

Scope and Content

Written from 35 Wimpole Street, [London] W. Manuscript

He has just returned from Italy and has visited Hurstside [West Molesey, Surrey] which is looking wonderful; the mushroom house is a barren waste despite using the best spawn and manure; Woodfield is unhappy about this; three-quarters of an acre has been added to the garden and the same to the poultry runs; the park is oak fenced; he hopes Robinson has had some holiday this year and hopes to see him if he is disposed to 'come up and eat vegetables or anything else'
