Letter from G. Buckston Browne [Sir George Buckston Browne] to William Robinson

Scope and Content

Written from 80 Wimpole Street, Cavendish Square, [London] W. Manuscript

He thanks Robinson for thinking of him and will enjoy Robinson’s delightful ‘English Flower Garden’; it will one day be of real use to him when he retires to his cottage; Mr Scott Wilson took Buckston Browne to his father’s garden near Weybridge [Oakwood, later RHS Garden Wisley] and Robinson’s book contains much that will remind him of the glories he saw there

[Buckston Browne’s visit to Oakwood, owned by George Fergusson Wilson, is recorded in the Oakwood visitors’ book on 21 Jul 1892]
