Meroë tombs 307 and 362: offering tablets

Scope and Content

Image of two votive tablets found blocking tombs at Meroë. On the left, a table from tomb 307 depicting two libating vases, flanked by lotus plants, pouring into a circular depression, with a cursive Meroitic inscription around the edge. On the right, a very worn table from tomb 362. The album print has the tables labelled 362 (left) and 307 (right), though the references are the other way round on the negative and in Garstang's publications. Handwritten note with negative states 'Album V61, Meroë 307 + 362 M10'.
