Lord Lansdowne writes concerning the amendments to the English Land Bill and the "killing" of the Scotch Land Bill. He further writes of the compromise concerning the evicted tenants and confirms that "Crewe has promised to give way as to the planters". He further writes that the Irish landlords "detest Ashbourne" and regard him [Landsdowne] as "somewhat of a traitor". He also writes of the "autumn campaign" which is currently underway. He finally writes wishing SCC well on his Egyptian journey and hopes to see him in the Spring. Sent from: Lansdowne House, Berkeley Square, London.
