SCC writes to Ecroyd regarding the general election in North East Lancashire. He reports that no placards have been found regarding rumours [about profiting from fines made to their workpeople] but there have also been reports that SCC's canvassers have been behaving inappropriately. He writes that the two Central Committees are aware and will show no tolerance towards misbehaviour from canvassers. Sent from: Rawenstall, date stamped, 8 April.
