Lord Derby writes offering his congratultions on the marriage of SCC and Louise Montagu, Duchess of Manchester. He further writes that a "statesman is only half one without a wife!". He finally writes that they will now be in a manner connected as SCC's step-daughter and his nephew "and eventual successor" are "in the same relation as the Duchess and yourself".
