SCC writes to Ponsonby regarding recruitment in the army. He writes that they are going to lower the age of recruitment for the Guards to improve their recruitment numbers. The letter is not in SCC's hand and is signed by [H Lascelles] with a note in pencil, "Hartington copy by H A Lascelles, signed with his own name in error?" Sent from: London, date stamped, 5 April.
