MB ChB Manch 1888; MRCS Eng 1888, FRCS 1907.

Lomas was born on 24 December 1864 and was educated at Owens College Manchester. He held junior appointments at MRI and the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary Wigan before being appointed resident medical officer to Barnes Convalescent Hospital, Blackley. Lomas entered the Navy as a surgeon in 1891 and served in the South Africa War. He became surgeon captain and retired in 1919.
