Frank Hamilton Lacey was born in 1879, the son of Thomas Samuel Lacey (see below). After studying medicine at the University of Manchester, Lacey held junior positions at Worcester General Infirmary and the St Mary's Hospital Manchester before serving in the RAMC. After the war, Lacey returned to Manchester and was appointed to the honorary staff of St Mary's, where he remained until his retirement in 1946. Lacey was also consultant gynaecologist to Crumpsall Hospital and Monsall Fever Hospital, and gynaecologist to Christie Hospital. He was honorary lecturer in clinical obstetrics at the University of Manchester, where he developed an unusual but popular teaching style. Lacey was a founding fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a fellow of the North of England Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society. After retirement, Lacey moved to the south and worked for a time as a farmer. He died in Sussex on 11 April 1958.
