MRCS LSA 1845.

The son of Robert Mann (see above), Mann was born on 28 February 1824. He was a student of Manchester Grammar School and received his medical education under his father and at Royal Manchester School of Medicine and St Bartholomews. Mann joined his father in practice in 1847. He was surgeon to St Mary's Hospital Manchester from 1849 to 1852, and also assistant surgeon to the First Volunteer Corps in Manchester and regimental surgeon to 6th Lancashire Rifle Volunteers. He was later medical officer to St Peter's District, Manchester. Like his father, he was surgeon to the Great Western and North Western Railways and to the Warehousemen and Clerks' Provident Societies. Mann was not a member of MMS as he had too many committments at other associations, including Manchester Literary and Philosophical Society and BMA. Mann had three children, Robert Heslop Manners Mann (d 1908), John Bentley Mann (see above) and Mary Louisa (d 1933) who married John Hall White, MD. Mann was alive in 1880 but probably dead by 1890.
