Scope and Content

The letter relates an "extraordinary story" recounted by Lord Rothschild concerning pro-Boer intrigues and the continuation of the war in South Africa. The letter mentions Labouchere, [Louis] Botha, [Koos] de la Rey and Kruger. It is further written that "Campbell Bannerman knows of this intrigue and is both afraid and angry at it".
