Wolseley writes to SCC regarding the expedition to Khartoum to relieve General Charles Gordon. He writes on his plans to move troops further to Khartoum but remarks that they are not making rapid progress. He writes that he hopes to position the troops so news will reach the Mahdis of their large number. He reports that there was a leak of Gordon's timeline of 40 days but Wolseley is unsure of how this happened. Sent from: Korti, date stamped, 20 Dec.
