Lady Cavendish writes concerning the General Election. She writes describing the scene when the telegram arrived to give the results "your father could not manage to open it for a moment or two". She writes that Edward is not very well and wishes her to stay with him rather than going to London. She finally writes that she has heard that SCC's speech at Matlock is spoken of with "much admiration". Sent from: Chatsworth, Chesterfield.
