Manchester Computing Centre was responsible for computing provision at the University of Manchester and UMIST, as well as providing national services for higher education institutions. The latter included the National Supercomputer Service and National Scalar service. (it reported to the Computer Board for these services). The files includes discussion of MCC's continuing involvement in the national services; cooperation with the Daresbury Laboratory over supercomputing services, and the development of the first information systems strategy for the University/UMIST.
