Scope and Content

The Centre for Urban and Regional Industrial Development (CURID) was a University centre, which existed between 1982 and 1986. Its purpose was to provide advice and technical support to local businesses, and to act as a link between small businesses and public and private bodies which could provide support and expertise to such firms. It was run jointly with UMIST.

The file includes the original project plan for the Centre, correspondence with the National Westminster Bank, which provided much of the funding, and with government departments relating to support, as well as minutes of the CURID management committee).
