Papers relating to the appointment of Thomas Kenneth Ross (1916-2008) in 1962 and George Lendell Standart (1921-1978) in 1967 to chairs of chemical engineering (UMIST). The title of Ross' s chair was later changed to corrosion engineering; he retired in 1978.
