Papers relating to the work of the University Joint Committee on Post-War Development and Reconstruction. The Committee instituted in 1941 to make a full investigation of the University's needs for staff, students, courses, buildings etc. in the post-war period. The file includes submissions from a number of departments in connection with the inquiry; there is also correspondence with the UGC regarding reconstruction. Some earlier papers by Sir Ernest Simon regarding a possible enquiry into the University (1939) have been included with this file.
