Papers relating to Ashburne Hall, a women's hall of residence in Fallowfield, Manchester. Unlike most other halls, Ashburne was governed directly by the University for the entirety of its existence. There is correspondence on a wide range of matters including: finances and fees of the Hall, social events, wartime arrangements, an outbreak of a streptococcal infection at the Hall in winter 1939/40, the appointment of Dr Edna Lind as warden in 1941, and various matters relating to tutorial and domestic staff.
