Correspondence relating to the work of the Rheumatism Committee of the Nuffield Foundation. Stopford chaired this committee which was established in 1949 to encourage better co-ordination of medical research into rheumatism. The work was funded by the Oliver Bird Fund.
Stopford's involvement with this Committee was independent of his role as vice-chancellor of the University.
