Scope and Content

Property: a messuage and tenement in Timperley called Timperley's Tenement, purchased by Thomas Hunt of Inner Temple London esq (in trust for Mary Countess of Stamford) from John Timperley of Oldfield in Dunham Massey yeo, his wife Hannah, and Nathaniel Timperley of Oldfield carpenter, on 24-25 March 1762, consideration £442 8s and £607 12s.

The bundle comprises: conveyance by lease and release from Sir William Meredith of Henbury bart (c.1725-90) and Robert Williams of Erbistock co. Denbigh esq, trustees for sale of the estates of James Lord Bulkeley dec'd, to Nathaniel Timperley of Timperley yeo, 1756 (EGR14/1/15/1-2); ABSTRACT of the title of the late Lord Richard [Bulkeley, Viscount] Bulkeley [of Cashel in Ireland], to estates in Cheshire from 1702 to 1756, 1757 (/3); mortgage by Nathaniel Timperley to Lady Dorothy Grey of Enville co. Staffs, spinster, with a bond for performance, 1757 (/4-5); assignment of mortgage from Lady Dorothy Grey to Hon Booth Grey (1740-1802), 1758 (/6); probate copy of the will of Nathaniel Timperley, made in 1757 and proved in 1759 (/7); conveyance by lease and release from John, Hannah and Nathaniel Timperley to Thomas Hunt, with discharge of mortgage by assignment of a term of years in trust to attend the fee, and fine levied by the Timperleys unto Hunt, 1762 (/8-11); declaration of Thomas Hunt that he holds the property in trust for Lady Stamford, 1762 (/12).
