Scope and Content

The bundle contains counterparts of conveyances by lease and release (only the releases are present) made by John Allen, Lord Viscount Allen, to various purchasers of properties in Ashton upon Mersey. The properties comprise Ashton Hall (EGR14/1/35/1), 11 messuages and tenements (/2-12), a field called Woodall's Croft (/13), and chief rents arising of out Ashton upon Mersey (/14). All documents are dated 22 February 1749/50.

The pieces are numbered consecutively from 1 to 14.

Received from the Stamford Estate Office in Altrincham on 21 February 1991.
