4 items. Condition: the items were waterlogged during flooding in the cellars at the Altrincham Estate Office in December 1993. This resulted in mould-growth on the leaves and covers of all items, the soiling, delamination and cockling of covers, the bonding together of leaves, and the bleeding of inks.

Scope and Content

The series comprises four small accounts books containing summary balance sheets for receipts and disbursements on the Cheshire Estates. The volumes are numbered consecutively from 1 to 4. On the debit (left-hand) side receipts are categorized as heriots, timber, incidental, reserved and chief rents, market tolls, Carrington Moss, entire horses, rack rents, tithe rent charges, road-making, [transfers from] H[enry] Hall esq, and [income from] Dunham Massey Hall. Entries on the credit (right-hand) side consist of transfers to Henry Hall, and unspecified expenditure.

Acquisition Information

All items were received from the Stamford Estate Office in Altrincham on 23 November 1994.
