The series comprises bundles each containing an assortment of material which could not naturally be assigned to any single series. The papers include accounts and other financial material, correspondence, and papers relating to tenancy matters. Several bundles include material relating to the affairs of William Greenwood who served as agent at the Stamford Estate Office in Altrincham. Upon his death in 1883 it was discovered that his finances were in considerable disarray, that he had used estate money for his own purposes, and that he owed over £500 to the Stamford Trustees. The money was recouped from his widow in part by the sale of the Stamford Foundry at Broadheath in Altrincham, of which he had been proprietor.
