Scope and Content

Ms training record of Lizzie Travers, pupil midwife at Greenwich District Hospital (30 April-13 August 1978), detailing how she spent her first sixteen weeks at the hospital, including her attendance at lectures, tutorials and film screenings in midwifery, obstetrics, paediatrics, obstetric analgesia, community health and parentcraft, the antenatal examinations carried out, the normal deliveries witnessed, the postnatal patients nursed, the abnormal deliveries witnessed and the treatment of paediatric abnormalities, as well as the confinements that she undertook, including the personal details of each patient, the examinations she was required to perform, the sex of the baby, the weight of the baby and method of feeding the baby.
