Papers relating to the training and career of Jessie Butcher as an assistant nurse and midwife, comprising certificate and paperwork from the General Nursing Council, a certificate issued by the Central Midwives Board for training in the administration of nitrous oxide and air using Minnitt apparatus, and certificates issued by the Royal College of Midwives for refresher courses attended at Hastings and Sheffield. Also included in this collection are the inscribed certified midwife badges issued to her (August 1927), together with a badge issued as a Plaistow trained nurse.
