Scope and Content

This collection comprises primarily personal papers originally deposted at the Royal College of Midwives, including case registers, pupil case books, notebooks, diaries, photographs and printed material, relating to the experiences of midwives and how childbirth has changed throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

The material within this collection is arranged as received, as well as in accordance with chronology, format and subject.

Access restrictions may apply if material includes personal information of living individuals. All other records are open to research by appointment, Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm.
