Case book of Diana Mary Wharton

Scope and Content

Ms pupil case book, containing reports, charts and graphs compiled by Diane Mary Wharton, whilst training as a midwife at Colchester Maternity Hospital in Essex (18 August 1958-20 April 1959), recording the case number, religion, age, husband's occupation, the expected delivery date and obstetric history of each patient that she attended, also detailing the results of antenatal examinations that she was required to perform, the progress of labour and puerperium, the condition of the child on birth, the method of feeding the child, the weight of the child and the postnatal care she was involved in providing. The volume has bee covered with stork wrapping paper.

Diane Mary Wharton (fl. 1940-1960) was a pupil midwife at the Colchester Maternity Hospital in Essex between 1958 and 1959.
