The typescript is annotated by the author (by hand) and includes a letter, dated 1 December 1973, from Bottrall to Burgess in which Bottrall asks Burgess if he would be willing to write a preface to his book. The book of poetry is to be divided into five parts; the first is a single long poem about Bottrall's childhood in Cornwall. There follows groups of shorter poems about people, events and places, arranged into sections entitled "Time and Place", "Interlude", Daybook" and "Nightlights".
