Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Completed in 1991 and published in 1992, A Mouthful of Air is Burgess's last volume of non-fiction, in which he revises and expands upon his earlier study of language and languages, titled Language Made Plain. The volume's title derives from the concluding lines of W. B. Yeats's poem "Aedh thinks of those who have spoken Evil of his Beloved".
