The bundle contains papers relating to the exchanges of lands in Bowdon in 1865 between the Earl of Stamford, the Bishop of Chester and the vicar of Bowdon, including surveys and valuations of the land, a plan of the vicarial glebe and an extract from the deed of exchange of Bowdon rectorial glebe (EGR14/72/2/1-13); papers relating to Vale Farm in Bowdon (EGR14/72/2/14-17); and papers relating to the termination in 1894 of the lease for lives whereby the Earl of Stamford and latterly the Stamford Trustees held the rectory of Bowdon, including notes, memoranda and schedules of the land (EGR14/72/2/18-42).
