With Victor Saville (1897-1979), film director and producer. Topics covered include: his praise for Mr. Chips (he suggests that "this time it should be the Academy Award for you"); his work on the film The Ruined City; his plans for a film for RD to follow Ruined City; his enjoyment of the year's work with RD; and his attempts to supply RD with film material that is worthy of his prowess. /5 is a photocopy of a telegram from Saville dated 2 March 1940 in which he informs RD that he accepted the Oscar on his behalf, and will dispatch it to him in the safest possible way, or bring it with him when he returns.
