With Anthony Asquith ("Puffin") (1902-1968), film director. /2 and /3 are circular letters from the Association of Cine-Technicians of which Asquith is president, relating to a letter of protest against the proceedings of the Un-American Committee investigating alleged communist activities in Hollywood in 1947. /4 is a press release reporting on this letter and recording the signatories, of which RD is one. In /11 Asquith encloses a copy of an open letter to the press dating from April 1950, protesting at the jail sentences imposed on ten Hollywood colleagues. The remainder of the correspondence relates to the possibility of Asquith directing RD's planned film The Cure for Love, and RD's work with Asquith on The Winslow Boy.
