Letter from M Goupy to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter. Goupy begins by stating that there is no danger in the election of Louis Napoleon. He then says he has forwarded a writing to Owen that he has also sent to Persigny, Billault, Jerome and his son.

Goupy informs Owen that Louis Napoleon's leading men have advised him to take second rate men for ministers and fears he will soon lose his power if he takes their advice. He believes he should take the cleverest men and goes on to outline the system he believes he should adopt but states he will take no further action than to write so.
