Letter from M Goupy to Robert Owen

Archive Unit

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter informing Owen that he wasn't able to publish his weekly paper as it didn't arrive in time. He notes that it is good news that the Christian Socialist will be published as it will encourage a debate on the absurdity of Popism. Goupy says that in France it will be more difficult because people are no longer as passionate as they were two years ago.

Goupy concludes by asking whether Owen has received the copies of the 1851 almanack that he sent him, mentions that his plan for the bath and wash is not yet ready and says he may be visiting London in a few days.
