Correspondence of Reverend Edward Groves

Scope and Content

This series of letters cover the period when Reverend Edward Groves was Secretary of the Hibernian Philanthropic Society. In these letters he frequently asks Owen for advice and asks for updates on his progress [presumably at New Lanark where the letters are addressed to]. In the later letters Groves informs Owen that the Philanthropic Society has more or less dissolved and asks for money so he can join him in Harmony in America. Groves updates Owen on the situation in Ireland and frequently shares his ideas with him.
