Scope and Content

Written from Cape Town, South Africa.

At the 8th Annual Convention of their South African WCTU held at Port Elizabeth in 12-14 Jul 'It was enthusiastically agreed upon that I convey to you sisters in Britain prayerful and sisterly greetings of South African Women who are in perfect sympathy with you all at home in the great struggle against the CD Acts abolished by your determined and prayerful efforts years ago.' At the present they are defeated but she has assured the Convention that 'the Cause of God was sure in the end'. She asks for literature as she can scatter it up and down the country. 'Mrs Murray, Wellington, is the leader, and she is Josephine Butler to Africa'.
