i.e. Mrs Margaret Tanner, Hon Treasurer of the LNA

'to my sister in Switzerland'

i.e. Mme Harriet Meuricoffre with a house near Geneva always ready to welcome her relations.

'Priscilla McLaren' (1812-1906) nee Bright, sister of John and Jacob Bright, married in 1848 to Duncan McLaren and was the mother of Walter Stowe Bright. She was the leader in N Britain of the Abolitionist Movement.

Dr Agnes McLaren another member of this family who devoted herself to the Abolitionist cause.
