Written from Ewart Park, Wooler, Northumberland. No year but refers to the coming Conference at Brussels in Jul 1897
She would like to tell him her anxieties about the coming Brussels Conference. She is afraid the reactionary forces will be at work there as here (Berenger there as Lady Henry here). As a reporter for the first day of the Conference she suggests Mr Burfoot who has done this work for her for the last nine years. He never failed her in the reports for the 'Dawn' [a quarterly periodical from 1888 to 1896]
Altogether he has worked for her for eighteen years and has helped her in all her literary and Federation work with promptitude and exactness. 'He is absolutely firm on the Federation question. I wish a third of our educated classes were as sound as he'.
