The memorial was duly presented to Lord George Hamilton by Mr Stuart who spoke in their name 'pointing out the importance and saying that no doubt it would be mentioned in the House of Commons'. Stuart reported that 'Lord George was extremely nervous - indeed seemed terrified at so many women's names; but he was very polite'.

At the moment she is very worried about Charles in St Thomas' Hospital; the day before she was not allowed to see him as they said he was too ill 'Poor Maggie Talbot is sorely tried' [Charlie's fiancee; they were married on 31 Aug]
